Job summary

The Andersen Partnership in Sydney is partnering with a fast-growing PE-backed technology business seeking a proactive Management Accountant to own a regional finance remit.

The role focuses on leading the month-end close, P&L and balance sheet reporting, and delivering commercial insights to drive regional growth. You will streamline processes, manage stakeholder relationships, and contribute to budgeting and audits.

Qualifications

• CA/CPA qualification or current study
• Experience with end-to-end month-end, opex, and reporting
• Strong organisational skills and deadline discipline
• Ability to manage regional stakeholder relationships as finance lead
• Experience in process improvement and system utilisation

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end month-end process including journals, accruals and reconciliations
• Manage P&L analysis and balance sheet reconciliations
• Own regional finance relationships and partner with stakeholders
• Deliver financial modelling, analysis and insights for new business initiatives
• Support budgeting, forecasting and ad-hoc projects
• Manage interim and annual audits and maintain controls

We are partnering with a fast-paced, private equity-backed technology business looking to appoint a proactive and highly organised Management Accountant to take ownership of one of it's international operations.

Based in the Sydney CBD, the business is rapidly evolving, making this a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives on taking the initiative, owning regional relationships, and driving process improvements alongside traditional reporting.

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on, highly visible Management Accountant position where you will be the core finance contact for a region. The role has a heavy focus on driving a rigorous month-end process, managing P&L and balance sheet reporting, and delivering commercial insights to support regional growth.

The business is looking for someone who is exceptionally detail-oriented, strong on strict deadlines, and ready to take the lead on regional reporting while actively streamlining current manual tasks.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading the end-to-end month-end process, including journals, accruals, and reconciliations
• Managing comprehensive P&L analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, and opex reporting
• Owning the finance relationship for your region, partnering closely with regional stakeholders on day-to‑day finance needs and reporting
• Delivering financial modelling, analysis, and actionable insights for new business initiatives
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and ad‑hoc commercial projects
• Managing interim and annual audits while ensuring strong financial controls are maintained
• Identifying opportunities to streamline existing processes and reduce manual tasks through smarter system utilisation

About You

We are looking for a highly proactive and organised Management Accountant who enjoys taking initiative and delivering to strict deadlines without compromising on detail.

You may currently be in a similar Management Accounting or Financial Accounting role looking for more autonomy, or you might be seeking a move into a fast-growing tech environment where you can truly own a region and champion process improvements.

Ideally, you will have:

• CA/CPA qualification, either completed or currently studying towards
• Strong experience managing end-to‑end month‑end processes, opex, and financial reporting
• Exceptional organisational skills, an eye for detail, and a track record of meeting strict deadlines
• The ability to confidently manage stakeholder relationships and act as the trusted finance lead for a specific region
• Experience with process improvement, system utilisation, and reducing manual finance tasks
• A highly proactive mindset with a genuine desire to use your initiative and drive results
