Job summary

APAC Michael Page is partnering with a rapidly growing ASX-listed resources business based in Perth to appoint a Management Accountant responsible for monthly project cost reports, variance analysis and cost-to-complete assessments. You will support forecasting, budgeting, month-end close, journal preparation, asset management and financial modelling to inform operational decisions and drive performance.

Exposure to on-site stakeholders and involvement across energy and natural resources

Qualifications

  • Tertiary Degree in Accounting or relevant qualifications.
  • Completed or working towards CA/CPA.
  • Exposure to on site stakeholder management.
  • 3-5 years experience within the resources sector.
  • Experience with Pronto is desirable.
  • Proven experience working with accounting software packages and financial systems.

Responsibilities

  • Support month-end reporting processes, including journal preparation, reconciliations and financial close activities.
  • Build and maintain financial models to support project analysis, business planning and investment decisions.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, periodic forecasts and ongoing reforecasting activities.
  • Manage the Fixed Asset Register, ensuring capitalisations, disposals and depreciation are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Track project spend and commitments, maintaining accurate forecasts to support operational decision-making.
  • Investigate and communicate cost variances, providing commentary and recommendations to support financial outcomes.
  • Perform cost to complete assessments and monitor project performance against approved budgets and forecasts.
  • Analyse and review monthly project cost performance, ensuring financial results are accurately reported and understood.
