Qualifications

About the Role

We are seeking a CPA/CA-qualified Accountant to join our client on a temporary basis in a hybrid position based in Perth CBD. This role will play a key part in delivering timely, accurate, and insightful financial information across both corporate and exploration functions. The successful candidate will support financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, compliance activities, and business performance analysis while ensuring strong financial governance and reporting integrity.


Key Responsibilities


  • Financial Reporting & Compliance

    • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of all financial transactions across corporate and exploration activities.

    • Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations and profit and loss account reconciliations.

    • Support the preparation of statutory financial statements and regulatory filings.

    • Assist with compliance reporting requirements and ensure adherence to relevant accounting standards and policies.

    • Contribute to ongoing financial governance processes and internal controls.



  • Month-End & Management Reporting

    • Prepare and support month-end reporting processes, including:

    • Accruals and journals

    • Cost allocations and recharges

    • Fixed asset accounting and management

    • Prepare monthly management reports, including detailed variance analysis and commentary.

    • Analyse financial data and provide insights to support business decision-making.



  • Budgeting & Forecasting

    • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.

    • Support cash flow forecasting and monitoring activities.

    • Provide financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities within the business.




Skills & Experience


  • CPA or CA qualification.

  • Strong financial reporting and management accounting experience.

  • Advanced reconciliation and analytical skills.

  • Experience preparing month-end accounts and management reporting.

  • Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.

  • Experience within the mining, resources, exploration, or related industries.

  • Familiarity with statutory reporting and regulatory compliance requirements.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced project or corporate environment.
