Job summary

MinRes is seeking a Management Accountant to join our Mining Services finance team. You’ll provide vital financial insights to support leaders across the business. You’ll be responsible for preparing management reports, budgets, forecasts, and analysis that highlight opportunities for growth, efficiency, and improved profitability.

This position commences as a 14-Month Fixed-Term contract.

Qualifications

• Tertiary degree in accounting/finance or related field.
• CPA/CA preferred or actively pursued.
• Experience in management accounting, financial analysis, or similar role.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting and management reporting skills.
• Advanced Excel and ERP/BI systems knowledge.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports and variances.
• Develop budgets and forecasts; monitor performance against plans.
• Partner with managers to analyse costs, margins and drivers.
• Support decision-making with financial modelling and business cases.
• Contribute to system and process improvements in finance.
• Ensure adherence to financial policies and controls.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and assist external auditors.

The opportunity

MinRes is currently seeking a Management Account to join our Mining Services finance team. As our Management Accountant, you’ll provide vital financial insights to support leaders across the business. You’ll be responsible for preparing management reports, budgets, forecasts, and analysis that highlight opportunities for growth, efficiency, and improved profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, financial reports, and variance analysis.
• Prepare budget and forecasts, ensuring business performance is effectively monitored.
• Partner with managers to provide insights into costs, margins, and financial drivers.
• Support decision-making through financial modelling and business case analysis.
• Contribute to system and process improvements across the finance function.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
• Involved with providing information to external auditors

What is required

• Tertiary Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Professional accounting qualification (CPA, CA) preferred or working towards.
• Established experience in management accounting, financial analysis, or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.
• Advanced Excel and experience with ERP/BI systems.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skill
