A community support organization in Melbourne is seeking volunteers to participate in the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme. Volunteers will engage with seniors through visits, sharing stories and companionship. A commitment of at least 1 hour fortnightly for a minimum of 6 months is required. Job description

MS Plus is funded to provide a volunteer visiting program – the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS).

Our Visitors share stories, go for a walk or have a cuppa, listen to music or play a board game. You would play a vital role in the life of a person living in an aged care home or their own home through ongoing friendship.

You need to be warm, caring, reliable and be willing to commit to 1hr fortnightly visits at minimum (weekly is best) for at least 6 months/ongoing.

Volunteers of all ages and backgrounds are welcome, but must be over 18+ yrs old.

MS Plus believes in a person-to-person approach and aspire to match you with someone local with shared interests and hobbies.

Time required

Weekly visits/connections preferred or at least once a fortnight, by mutual convenience, any day of the week/fortnight with a minimum 6-month commitment requirement. The length of time for each connection to be determined by the visitor.
