Job summary

Grange Growing Solutions in Sydney, NSW, seeks a hands-on Maintenance Technician to keep two Form Fill and Seal bagging lines running safely and reliably. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose faults, and implement improvements across packaging and production equipment.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as Fitter & Turner or Mechanical Fitter is required.
• Experience maintaining automated manufacturing, processing or packaging equipment.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills are essential.
• Experience with pneumatics, motors, sensors, conveyors and automation systems.
• Understanding of PLC-controlled machinery is highly regarded.
• Experience with Form Fill and Seal or similar packaging equipment is a plus.
• A proactive approach to preventative maintenance and equipment reliability.

Responsibilities

• Preventative and scheduled maintenance of two FFS lines and related equipment.
• Mechanical fault finding, repairs and breakdown response.
• Identify and resolve electrical, pneumatic and automation faults.
• Maintain conveyors, motors, gearboxes, bearings and pneumatic systems.
• Monitor equipment performance and pursue reliability improvements.
• Plan maintenance activities and manage spare parts.
• Assist with upgrades, modifications and continuous improvement projects.
• Coordinate with external technicians when required.
• Keep accurate maintenance and service records.
• Ensure all work complies with site safety procedures.

Job description

Working closely with our Operations and Production teams, you will be responsible for keeping our automated packaging equipment operating safely, efficiently and reliably. This is an important hands‑on role with primary responsibility for the maintenance, reliability and ongoing improvement of our two automated Form Fill and Seal (FFS) bagging lines, along with associated production equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Preventative and scheduled maintenance of our two automated Form Fill and Seal bagging lines
• Mechanical fault finding, repairs and breakdown response
• Identifying and resolving electrical, sensor, pneumatic and automation-related faults
• Maintenance of conveyors, motors, gearboxes, bearings, pneumatic systems and associated production equipment
• Monitoring equipment performance and identifying opportunities to improve reliability and reduce downtime
• Planning maintenance activities and maintaining appropriate spare parts
• Assisting with equipment upgrades, modifications and continuous improvement projects
• Liaising with external electrical and specialist technicians when required
• Maintaining accurate maintenance and service records
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with site procedures

About you

• Trade qualification as a Fitter & Turner, Mechanical Fitter or similar
• Experience maintaining automated manufacturing, processing or packaging equipment
• Good electrical knowledge and training, particularly in industrial equipment
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Experience with pneumatics, motors, sensors, conveyors and automated control systems
• An understanding of PLC-controlled machinery and automation would be highly regarded
• Experience with Form Fill and Seal or other automated bagging/packaging equipment would be an advantage
• A proactive approach to preventative maintenance rather than simply responding to breakdowns
• The ability to work independently and take ownership of equipment reliability
• A practical, hands‑on attitude and willingness to work as part of our broader production team
