Job summary

Crawfords Freightlines is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor based in Sandgate to lead a busy team of mechanics across a heavy industrial fleet. You will manage preventative maintenance, scheduled servicing and breakdown repairs to ensure fleet readiness for client demands.

The role requires a formal mechanical trade qualification and proven leadership, with strong safety credentials and the ability to use maintenance software and data systems. Forklift and HC licences are highly desirable.

Qualifications

Job description

We are a dynamic and growing transport company based in Sandgate NSW with depots in Werris Creek and Rockhampton QLD.

The role

You will be managing the delivery of preventative maintenance of assets, scheduled servicing and break-down / repair services across a fleet of prime movers, trailers and operating plant.

The Maintenance Supervisor is located in Sandgate and leads a busy team of mechanics and associated trade staff working a rotating shift roster and is responsible for:

• Minimising the impact of plant down-time by ensuring a schedule of preventative maintenance and any non-scheduled servicing and repair is conducted efficiently to ensure minimal impact on operations
• A hands-on approach to ensure our fleet is in operation to meet client requirements
• The development, implementation and maintenance of maintenance systems and procedures
• Ensure reporting and compliance of maintenance activities is completed and maintained
• Quality Control
• Cost management for the Maintenance Unit

The successful candidate

You will have:

• A relevant formal mechanical trade qualification and demonstrated experience leading teams.
• A demonstrated knowledge of relevant industry WHS
• Experience in the supervision, mentoring and coaching of a team of mechanics with the ability to monitor and evaluate staff performance.
• Competence in computer based applications such as MS Word, Excel and Outlook. Experience in a maintenance application and parts data base would be an advantage.
• The ability to ensure overall safety and well being of a team in a heavy industrial environment
• Clear and concise communication abilities with excellent interpersonal skills

Paramount to your success in this role is the ability to keep the fleet running, ensuring transport assets are available tomeet operational demands whilst maintaining allsafe-working requirements. You will have a good knowledge of safe working practices and will be proactive in this area. Forklift and HC licences are highly desirable.
