BHP announced that its Nickel West operations and the West Musgrave project will be temporarily suspended from October 2024, with a review of this decision planned by February 2027. During this period, BHP will continue to invest approximately AU$450 million (US$300 million) per annum to maintain the Western Australia Nickel facilities and preserve the option for a potential restart.
