Job summary

Alstom Australia is seeking a maintenance technician to support the Metronet C-Series Train Fleet at the Nowergup depot and East Perth operations. You will diagnose faults, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, and coordinate with Train Controllers, Drivers and other maintenance teams to keep trains operational.

Key requirements include hands-on maintenance experience, fault finding, and a valid WA driving licence; possession of a WA Electrical Licence or Mechanical Fitter is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Experience in maintenance, fault finding, diagnosing and repair.
  • A current WA driving licence.
  • A current WA Electrical Licence or Mechanical Fitter.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, identify, and rectify faults in vehicle systems, ensuring operational integrity.
  • Discuss Technical issues and co-ordinate issues with Train Controllers, Train Drivers and Maintenance teams.
  • Support Reliability improvements and monitoring.
  • Conduct post-maintenance testing, and update the Maintenance Management System accordingly.
  • Assist with depot operations, including train movements, system downloads, and interpretation of diagnostic data.
  • Raise and manage work orders for corrective actions on both Alstom and customer platforms.
  • Monitor system health tools (e.g., Health Hub) and contribute to service reliability through feedback and corrective measures.
  • Cover on call and attend trains on weekends, when rostered.

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your maintenance expertise in a new cutting-edge field, joining our Services business. You’ll work alongside motivated and passionate teammates on theMetronet C-Series Train Fleetin our maintenance facility at Nowergup and our customers at the Public Transport Operations Control Centre – East Perth.Day-to-day, you’ll support drivers with technical support and aspects of the preventative and correct maintenance for the fleet. You'll work closely with our technicians and engineering team, reporting on any train related defects.The main shift will be at East Perth, with use of a fleet vehicle and will cover Mon-Fri 6-10am OR 3-7pm supporting network peaks, with remainder of the shift at Nowergup Depot.We’ll look to you for the following activities:
