Job summary

Alcoa Australia is seeking a Maintenance Planner for the Portland Aluminium site. You will maximize maintenance efficiency by planning all scheduled activities, safely integrating manufacturing and financial needs into a cohesive plan.

You will lead weekly planning sessions and ensure the right people, parts and processes are in place for timely work execution. Consultation with maintenance crews and supervision of outages will be essential, along with contributing to budget planning and

As a Planner at our Portland Smelter, you are responsible for maximising maintenance and process effectiveness and efficiency by planning all scheduled activities prior to the commencement of a job. This involves safely integrating manufacturing and financial requirements into an effective Maintenance Plan. The Maintenance Planner strives to continuously improve productivity and work quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through effective planning and co-ordination.Other responsibilities include:Developing weekly plans and facilitating weekly planning meetings in line with Alcoa planning processes.Supporting daily planning processes, making information available to ensure successful work execution in a timely and effective manner as well as capturing outcomes.Ensuring people, parts and processes are available for maintenance activities in a timely manner.Contributing to maintenance efficiency and effectiveness by participating in reviews of major activities, seeking improvements, reporting on such activities and initiating action where appropriate.Assisting in financial budget preparation, forecasting and maintenance strategies; ensuring long-term activity schedules are accurate and up to date.Applying problem solving and analysing skills to isolate, diagnose and resolve equipment/process related problems.Utilising core operating principles and processes to define failure modes and understand mean time to failure of systems.Actively direct and participate in planned outages and performance improvement programs.Oversee relevant Mechanical Maintenance Crews.Achieve sustained improvements through leadership of the problem-solving process and application of business systems.What’s on offerSalary packaging for a novated car lease, employee share plan and superannuation options.Career development opportunities to pursue your passions.Enjoy continuous, long term career progression opportunities.Join us to advance our diverse, inclusive and high-performing culture.Safety is our top priority – our days start and finish with it.What you can bring to the roleA Mechanical (Fitting & Turning) or Electrical Trade Certificate or Degree is advantageous however applicants with planning experience desirable.Strong interpersonal skills that enable you to establish relationships and communicate with ease, at all levels of the organisation.Dedication to environment, health and safety in the workplace and the ability to actively contribute to safety improvement initiatives.Excellent attention to detail, organisational and problem-solving skills.The ability to co-ordinate multiple project/planning initiatives within the maintenance group.Experience in heavy industry and the use of computer-based maintenance systems is advantageous.Additional informationInterviews may progress prior to the closing date, although all applications will be considered.You will only be contacted if you are shortlisted for an interview, this process can take up to four weeks from the closing date.#LI-JH1 | #AlcoaAUSAbout the LocationOur Portland Smelter is a joint venture between Alcoa of Australia (55%), CITIC (22.5%) and Marubeni Aluminium Australia (22.5%).
