Job summary

Thrive House PTY is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Officer for our Caboolture-based team. You will support upkeep across 26+ residential care properties in SE Queensland, performing plastering, painting, minor carpentry and general maintenance.

The role requires travel between sites and a building/maintenance trade qualification. Ideal candidates will work well independently, manage competing priorities, and uphold high safety and presentation standards while joining a values-driven,

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in building, construction or maintenance.
• Eligible to work in Australia with relevant clearances.
• Ability to travel between multiple South East Queensland sites.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general property maintenance and handyman tasks across residential homes and offices
• Complete plastering, patching, painting and property presentation works
• Undertake minor repairs including basic carpentry, hardware replacements and maintenance tasks
• Identify and escalate maintenance, safety and compliance concerns proactively
• Coordinate materials and assist with job planning and completion
• Liaise professionally with staff, contractors and management
• Maintain safe, clean and compliant work practices across all sites
• Travel between multiple sites throughout South East Queensland as required
• Demonstrate ability to work beyond your primary trade across a broad range of maintenance tasks
• Strong plastering and painting experience
• Experience working across multiple sites or properties is highly regarded
• Experience within residential, community housing, disability or care environments is highly regarded

The Opportunity

We are seeking a hands-on and reliable Maintenance Officer to join our growing team based out of our Caboolture office.

Working alongside our experienced Maintenance Manager and broader maintenance team, you will support the upkeep and presentation of more than 26 residential care and SIL properties across Brisbane, Moreton Bay and the Sunshine Coast.

This role is ideal for an experienced tradesperson (plasterers and painters encouraged to apply) who enjoys varied work, takes pride in high standards and is comfortable working across a broad range of maintenance and handyman tasks beyond their core trade.

This is a full-time role and operates on a 9-day fortnight, with an RDO every second Friday.

The Maintenance Officer Will:

• Strong plastering and painting experience
• Experience in general maintenance, property maintenance or handyman-style roles
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage competing priorities
• Strong problem-solving skills and practical decision‑making ability
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
• High work standards and strong attention to detail
• Good time management and organisational skills
• Reasonable level of physical fitness
• Experience working across multiple sites or properties is highly regarded
• Experience within residential, community housing, disability or care environments is highly regarded

• You are eligible to work in Australia, hold a current QLD driver’s licence and are eligible to obtain an NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, Blue Card and Child Safety suitability requirements as applicable
