Bolton Clarke Residential Aged Care Opportunities – Wide Bay QLD is offering a full‑time Maintenance Officer role at a residential aged care facility in Bundaberg. You will perform routine maintenance, liaise with customers, and coordinate with external contractors to keep buildings, gardens, and common areas in good condition.

Applicants should have moderate maintenance experience, a solid understanding of OHS standards, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Moderate experience as a Maintenance Officer is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of workplace safety and health principles is preferred.
• Proficient in Facilities Maintenance, Repair Techniques, Plant Operations, Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Standards and Maintenance Equipment Managementskills.
• Excellent Communication, Analytical Thinking, Customer Experience and Planning and Prioritisation skills.

Responsibilities

• Undertakes general building maintenance, repairs tasks such as installing doors, shelves/cupboards, designing garden layouts, etc., and ensures work meet relevant trade and Australian standards.
• Maintains cleanliness, functionality and orderly presentation of gardens and common areas across Bolton Clarke Aged Care Facility or Retirement Village.
• Communicates with customers to ensure that maintenance and gardening services meet their expectations and addresses issues that could affect their well-being.
• Conducts regular inspections of the facility to identify and address maintenance needs, including plumbing, electrical, and general building upkeep.

About the Role

As the Maintenance Officer, you will be responsible for undertaking routine maintenance work to ensure the appearance and condition of the Aged Care Facility building is well-maintained. You will communicate with customers to understand their needs and liaise with external contractors to provide specialised services. You will conduct regular inspection, follow health and safety protocols and ensure work meet trade and Australian standards.

To be successful in this role, our preferred candidate will have:
