Job summary

Churches Of Christ in Acacia Ridge, QLD, Australia, is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Officer to cover building and grounds maintenance across Brig-O-Doon Aged Care Service. You will perform preventative and reactive maintenance, co-ordinate contractors and ensure safety and compliance in an aged care setting.

The ideal candidate has solid maintenance experience, WHS knowledge, and a proactive approach to problem solving.

Qualifications

• Solid experience in a maintenance, handyman, facilities or groundskeeping role.
• Previous maintenance experience with residential aged care – highly desirable.
• Good understanding of Work Health and Safety requirements.
• Understanding infection control, compliance and resident safety within an aged care environment.
• Strong practical problem-solving skills and ability to manage competing maintenance priorities.
• Confidence coordinating with contractors and other service providers.
• Current driver's licence.
• Valid Australian work rights – sponsorship not available.
• Availability to commence as soon as possible.

Join our small, dedicated team and play an important role in keeping our aged care service safe, functional, well maintained and welcoming for our residents. This is a hands-on and varied role covering building and general maintenance, preventative and reactive repairs, grounds maintenance, equipment checks and contractor coordination. You’ll use your practical skills and experience to ensure our facilities are maintained to a high standard while supporting resident safety, Work Health and Safety requirements and aged care compliance standards. Previous maintenance experience within residential aged care is highly regarded, as an understanding of the unique requirements of an aged care environment will help you succeed in this role.

In this role, you will:
