Job summary

Greenmountain Food Processing in Coominya is seeking a senior Maintenance Manager to own plant reliability and lead a large maintenance function at our beef processing facility.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will supervise 10–20 fitters, electricians and mechanics, drive preventive maintenance, manage budgets and contractor activities, and ensure WHS and food safety compliance.

Are you an experienced Maintenance Manager ready to take ownership of plant reliability and lead a substantial maintenance function within a large, fast-paced manufacturing operation?

Greenmountain Food Processing is seeking a capable and accountable Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations at our Coominya beef processing facility.

This is a senior operational leadership role with direct influence over plant reliability, production performance, safety, compliance and cost.

Mandatory Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

• Current unrestricted Australian work rights

• Current Driver’s Licence

• Minimum five years’ experience managing maintenance teams in a high-volume manufacturing environment

• Strong mechanical engineering aptitude and technical understanding

• Proven experience leading supervisors and multidisciplinary trade teams

• Strong CMMS experience across preventive maintenance, work orders, asset history, spare parts and reporting

• Experience managing maintenance in a multi-shift or 24/7 operation

• Strong knowledge of contractor management, permits, isolation and lockout/tagout systems

• Ability to support urgent breakdown escalation outside normal hours when required

• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder-management skills

A formal management or trade qualification is desirable but not mandatory where the applicant can demonstrate substantial maintenance leadership experience and strong technical capability.

About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager, you will lead the maintenance function at Greenmountain's Coominya site.

The facility is a large, fast-paced beef processing operation incorporating complex mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, boiler, rendering and production equipment.

You will lead maintenance supervisors who coordinate a team of approximately 10 to 20 fitters, mechanics and electricians.

This is primarily a leadership and coordination role rather than a hands-on trades position.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the site maintenance function and provide direction to maintenance supervisors

• Improve equipment reliability and reduce breakdowns and plant downtime

• Strengthen preventive and planned maintenance systems

• Coordinate breakdown response and maintenance priorities

• Manage maintenance KPIs, including downtime, preventive maintenance completion, recurring faults, response times, costs and staff performance

• Ensure effective use of the site CMMS

• Manage maintenance budgets, contractor expenditure, spare parts and project costs within scope

• Oversee contractors, permits, isolation and lockout/tagout requirements

• Lead root-cause analysis and corrective action for recurring failures

• Manage capital projects, plant upgrades and engineering improvements

• Ensure compliance with WHS, food safety, hygiene and statutory requirements

• Work closely with Production, WHS, Quality Assurance, contractors and senior management

• Balance plant uptime, safety, compliance, quality and cost

Greenmountain uses MEX. Strong experience with MEX or another comparable CMMS is required.

Regular on-site presence is required, with flexibility based on plant operations, maintenance demands and breakdowns.
