An experienced Maintenance Manager is sought to join a major manufacturing operation in Melbourne, overseeing the maintenance team and ensuring reliable plant performance.

On behalf of our client, we are searching for an experienced Maintenance Manager to join a leading manufacturer and supplier of concrete pipes and associated concrete products, reporting to the Regional General Manager - a business known nationally for its technology and innovation.
You will lead the maintenance team at our major manufacturing plants, across Melbourne, to enable optimal and reliable operation of the manufacturing facilities, and be responsible for ensuring the production, health and safety and financial objectives are met.
You will work closely with the Production Managers and lead the maintenance team to deliver the following key responsibilities:
Develop and implement a preventative and predictive maintenance system across the operations.
Lead maintenance team to achieve planned output to maximise machine OEE performance.
Identify and implement improvement opportunities specific to machine availability, demonstrating the ability to continuously improve machine OEE.
Responsible for all aspects of Contractor Management.
Undertake regular audits ensuring Maintenance Team compliance to break down and scheduled maintenance procedures.
Identify any skills gaps with Maintenance Team Leaders and either train or arrange training as required.
Leadership with an absolute commitment to maintaining a strong safety culture in the plants.
You will have:
Heavy Industry experience highly regarded.
Knowledge and experience of bulk materials handling, PLCs, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment preferred
A sound knowledge of best practice, with the ability to identify weaknesses in manufacturing operations, and recommend action plans
Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills to identify and resolve mechanical issues/breakdowns.
Confidence in project management, as well as directing and managing engineering contractors.
