Job summary

Raytheon Australia is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead a skilled team delivering maintenance and calibration services for critical Defence capabilities under the JGSTE program at Cannon Hill, Queensland. You will drive governance, quality assurance and operational excellence across a national network and coordinate with project management, engineering and quality teams.

You will oversee workforce development, safety, and continuous improvement while ensuring ISO 17025

Qualifications

  • Diploma or higher in electronics, electrical, instrumentation, telecoms or related discipline.
  • Experience leading maintenance, calibration, logistics or engineering support teams.
  • Understanding of quality management systems in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead maintenance and calibration operations to deliver safe, compliant support.
  • Ensure ISO 17025 (NATA) accreditation requirements are met.
  • Manage multidisciplinary technicians and external providers for service delivery.
  • Oversee scheduling, prioritisation and resource allocation to meet targets.
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, productivity and customer satisfaction.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Manager to join our Joint Gas Support and Test Equipment (JGSTE) program based at Cannon Hill, Queensland. In this leadership role, you will oversee maintenance and calibration operations that directly support critical Defence capabilities. Leading a highly skilled technical team and managing a network of specialist service providers, you will ensure equipment availability, quality compliance, operational performance and continuous improvement across the program. Reporting to the Operations and Maintenance Project Manager, the Maintenance Manager is responsible for the leadership, technical governance, quality assurance and operational delivery of maintenance and calibration services across the Joint Gas Support and Test Equipment (JGSTE) Program. The role ensures compliance with ISO 17025 (NATA) requirements, contractual obligations and Defence customer expectations while driving continuous improvement, workforce development and technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead maintenance and calibration operations to deliver safe, compliant and efficient support services.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 17025 (NATA) accreditation requirements, contractual obligations and Raytheon procedures.
  • Manage and develop a multidisciplinary team of technicians through coaching, mentoring, performance management and capability development.
  • Oversee maintenance prioritisation, work scheduling and resource allocation to achieve customer delivery targets.
  • Manage relationships and performance of external technical support providers and subcontractors.
  • Collaborate with Project Management, Engineering, Quality and Customer stakeholders to resolve complex technical and operational issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, productivity and customer satisfaction.
  • Support the introduction of new capabilities, technologies and maintenance methodologies.
  • Provide technical governance and oversight for support and test equipment maintenance activities across program locations.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
  • Essential Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Trade Qualification, Engineering qualification or equivalent experience in Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, Telecommunications or related technical discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical maintenance, calibration, logistics or engineering support teams.
  • Strong understanding of workforce planning, performance management and operational delivery.
  • Understanding of quality management systems and regulated technical environments.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance.
  • Desirable Experience operating within an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory environment.
  • Experience supporting Defence or aerospace programs.
  • Experience with NATA accreditation processes and audits.
  • Experience as a NATA Technical Assessor.
  • Knowledge of metrology, calibration management, or test and measurement systems.
