Job summary

Blue Projects is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Fitter / Tradesperson for a site-based role at a busy food manufacturing facility in Sydney, NSW. You will support safe and reliable plant operations through planned preventive maintenance, breakdown repairs, and practical site improvements.

The role moves between planned maintenance, reactive repairs and general facility maintenance. Start anticipated in early 2027 with independence and ownership of each job, under safe supervision.

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified fitter or equivalent tradesperson with strong site experience.
• Self-motivated and able to take ownership of work from start to completion.
• Comfortable working independently and equally effective as part of a team.
• Willing to undertake challenging jobs and work overtime when required.
• Strong safety mindset with an understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice in a food manufacturing environment.
• Confident and competent when working at heights.
• Practical, adaptable and able to move between planned and reactive work.
• Reliable, punctual and well presented.
• Completion of the site induction and compliance with safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Change pumps, mechanical seals and associated equipment.
• Install, run and modify pipework.
• Identify faults and complete mechanical repairs.
• Complete preventive maintenance and corrective PM02 work orders for the maintenance teams.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and routine site maintenance requests.
• Carry out general maintenance and handyman tasks throughout the facility.
• Work safely at heights and across multiple levels of the plant.
• Follow site GMP, food safety and workplace safety requirements on every job.
• Leave all work areas clean, safe and ready for production.

We are seeking a hands-on Maintenance Fitter / Tradesperson for a site-based role at a busy food manufacturing facility in Sydney, NSW. You will support safe and reliable plant operations through planned preventive maintenance, breakdown repairs, corrective work and practical site improvements, working independently or as part of the maintenance team.

Role Overview

This role is based at a multi-storey food manufacturing site in NSW, with an anticipated start in early 2027 and engagement through Blue Projects. The work is varied and dynamic, moving between planned maintenance, reactive repairs, improvement tasks and general facility maintenance. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who takes ownership of each job and completes work safely and to a high standard without close supervision.

• Completion of the site induction and compliance with all site safety, hygiene and personal protective equipment requirements are required.
