Job summary

Pact Packaging is seeking a Maintenance Fitter to perform preventative and reactive maintenance across manufacturing gear, ensuring reliability, availability, and performance targets. The role involves diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults, completing planned maintenance, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within a safety-focused environment.

The position requires a trade qualification and experience in manufacturing, with proficiency in reading drawings and CMMS systems.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as Maintenance Fitter or equivalent.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
• Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
• Experience using CMMS and preventative maintenance systems.
• Commitment to safety, teamwork and continuous improvement.
• Exposure to PLC-controlled equipment, welding or fabrication is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and reactive maintenance to maximise equipment reliability, availability and performance.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical faults to minimise downtime.
• Complete planned maintenance tasks and maintain CMMS records.
• Comply with WHS, quality and environmental requirements, including LOTO.
• Identify hazards, report incidents and contribute to a safe workplace culture.
• Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
