Job summary

Selleys, part of the DuluxGroup, is seeking a hands-on Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter / Machinist for our afternoon shift (2pm-10pm) at our Sydney-area site. You will apply strong fault-finding skills, read technical manuals, and work with CMMS (MEX) to maintain equipment reliability.

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter / Machinist with minimum 3-5 years’ experience.
• Experience in a manufacturing, FMCG, chemical processing or industrial production environment with strong commitment to workplace safety.
• Proven mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding capability.
• Experience working with CMMS systems such as MEX.

Responsibilities

• Develop a strong understanding of site equipment and services.
• Assist with complex production line changeovers and equipment setups.
• Respond to breakdowns and diagnose faults to minimise downtime and identify recurring failures.
• Complete planned preventative and corrective maintenance activities and maintain accurate CMMS records (MEX).
• Apply Permit to Work, LOTO and isolation procedures for safe maintenance work.
• Collaborate with operators and production leaders to optimise equipment performance.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Develop a strong understanding of site equipment and services
• Assist with complex production line changeovers and equipment setups
• Respond to breakdowns, diagnose faults to minimise downtime including identifying and investigating recurring equipment failures and recommend solutions to improve reliability
• Complete planned preventative and corrective maintenance activities and maintain accurate records within the site CMMS (MEX)
• Apply Permit to Work, LOTO and isolation procedures to ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and in compliance with site requirements
• Collaborate closely with operators and production leaders to optimise equipment performance

What We’re Looking for

• Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter / Machinist with minimum 3-5 years’ experience
• Experience in a manufacturing, FMCG, chemical processing or industrial production environment with strong commitment to workplace safety
• Proven mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding capability
• Experience working with CMMS systems such as MEX
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, maintenance instructions and equipment manuals
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document maintenance activities

This is a hands-on role suited to a trade-qualified professional who enjoys problem solving and working collaboratively with maintenance, engineering and production peers. This is a permanent full-time position for the afternoon shift (2pm-10pm).
