Job summary

Aliaxis in O'Connor, WA is seeking a Maintenance Fitter to maintain, troubleshoot and repair production equipment across our site. This hands‑on role supports reliability and continuous improvement in a leading PVC pipe manufacturing operation.

You will work with a supportive team, gain exposure to a broad range of equipment, and develop your technical skills in a stable, well‑established business environment.

Qualifications

• Trade certification in mechanical fitting or related trade, or final year apprentice.
• Excellent fault-finding, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
• Licenses: forklift, EWP, confined spaces
• Understanding of hydraulics & pneumatics and water process plant equipment.
• Welding competence (Mig/Tig/Arc)
• Experience in CMMS
• Strong communication across all levels of the business
• Excellent time management to prioritise maintenance activities
• Proactive, solutions-focused approach and continuous improvement mindset
• Strong focus on safety and compliance

Responsibilities

• Conduct breakdown and immediate maintenance activities across the site and facilities.
• Diagnose and resolve equipment faults to minimise downtime and maintain operational performance.
• Install, service, repair, and overhaul manufacturing machinery, conveyors, pumps, and associated plant equipment.
• Identify maintenance issues and opportunities for improvement to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
• Follow health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements, contributing to a safe workplace.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and support planned shutdowns, inspections, and schedules.
• Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement.
