Job summary

Graymont Limited is seeking a Permanent Full-time Maintenance Fitter to be based at our Galong Limestone processing plant and quarry in NSW. You will maintain, modify, repair and rectify breakdowns of fixed plant equipment, usually on day shifts with potential overtime for breakdowns.

Reporting to the Maintenance and Production Supervisor, you will contribute to safety, quality, and environmental standards and work as part of a team in a rural NSW site.

Qualifications

• A trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or Boilermaker with good mechanical aptitude
• Experience with Crushing and Screening, Milling, Kiln and Hydration equipment as well as sound welding and fabrication skills would be highly regarded but not essential
• Good foundation in preventative maintenance and condition monitoring; strong safety mindset and leadership on safety

Responsibilities

• Maintain, modify, repair and rectify breakdowns on processing fixed plant equipment
• Support preventative maintenance and routine inspections
• Work with supervision to ensure safety, quality and environmental standards are met

Our Role

We are currently recruiting for a Permanent Full-time Maintenance Fitter to be based at our Galong Limestone processing plant and quarry (342 Eubindal Rd, Galong, NSW). The plant is a short drive from Yass, Young and Harden. Reporting to the Maintenance and Production Supervisor, you will assist in the regular maintenance, modification, repair and unscheduled breakdown rectification services for the processing fixed plant and equipment.

Ordinarily this will be a day shift role however you will be required to work on some Saturdays and will be available to attend unplanned breakdowns, whereby overtime will be accrued.

The successful applicant will have;

• A trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or Boilermaker with good mechanical aptitude
• Experience with Crushing and Screening, Milling, Kiln and Hydration equipment as well as sound welding and fabrication skills would be highly regarded but not essential.

The successful candidate will have a good foundation understanding of the concepts of preventative maintenance and condition monitoring and will have a positive attitude towards safety with an ability to demonstrate leadership in this area. You will also have a commitment to Quality, Health and Safety and environmental requirements and legislation, and will be successful at working as part of a team.
