Job summary

Randstad is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Engineer to join our client's on-site team in Woolloongabba, Brisbane. You will perform preventive maintenance, investigations, and repairs across plant utilities, manufacturing equipment, and support facilities to maximize uptime.

The role requires experience with GMP environments, electrical and mechanical fault-finding, and CMMS familiarity. On-site work in Brisbane, with opportunities for professional development and safety-focused operations.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification or Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Automation Engineering.
• A Restricted Electrical License is preferred.
• 3+ years of maintenance experience within pharmaceutical, hospital, food processing, or related regulated industries.
• Hands-on experience with equipment/utilities (HVAC, Steam, Compressed Air) and industrial automation systems (PLCs, BMS, SCADA).
• Experience in a GMP cleanroom is desirable.
• Strong mechanical/electrical fault-finding capabilities, working knowledge of EHS standards, and familiarity with CMMS.

Responsibilities

• Maintain technical manufacturing equipment, plant utilities, and facility systems within a GMP cleanroom environment.
• Perform planned preventive maintenance, routine monitoring, and corrective actions to maximize uptime and asset reliability.
• Respond to Building Management System (BMS) alarms, breakdowns, and facility issues across mechanical, electrical, and automation systems.
• Participate in engineering investigations, root cause analysis, reliability assessments, and FMEA activities to drive continuous improvement.
• Assist with quality deviation investigations and ensure full compliance with GMP, Quality Assurance, and EHS requirements.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems within the scope of licensing and competency.
