Job summary

DRA Global Limited in Townsville, Queensland, seeks an experienced Electrician for the Mount Carlton Gold Operation. The role covers preventative and breakdown maintenance, fault diagnosis, and improvements to ensure safe, efficient plant performance.

This is a max-term full-time contract with an 8/6 days/nights roster. DIDO/BIBO from the Townsville region is provided, and accommodation and meals are supplied on site.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as an Electrician with a current Electrical Licence.
• Experience maintaining fixed plant electrical systems including motors, MCCs, switchboards, VSDs and instrumentation.
• Proven experience in mineral processing facility or heavy industrial environment.
• Current RSHQ Medical – desirable.
• Right to Work in Australia – Essential.
• Current Australian Drivers Licence – Essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned, preventative and breakdown electrical maintenance on fixed plant and site services equipment.
• Maintain and repair electrical systems, motors, switchboards, instrumentation and control equipment across site.
• Diagnose and rectify electrical faults to minimise plant downtime.
• Conduct routine inspections and testing of electrical equipment.
• Support plant operations by ensuring electrical systems are safe and efficient.
• Assist with shutdown maintenance activities and plant improvements.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders.
• Work with operations team to optimise plant availability.
• Ensure all work follows safety standards and procedures.
• Maintain housekeeping across electrical areas.

About the role

We are seeking experienced Electrician's to join the operations and maintenance team at the Mount Carlton Gold Operation as the site transitions through refurbishment, ramp-up and into steady-state operations.

This is a hands-on role for a tradesperson who takes pride in running plant safely, maintaining stable process conditions and working as part of a tight, site-based team. You will be actively involved in day-to-day plant maintenance, monitoring, troubleshooting and continuous improvement across the processing circuit.

This role will be offered on a Max Term Full Time Contractand will see you work a 8/6 Roster Days/Nights. This role will be DIDO/BIBO from the Townsville Region. Accommodation and Meals are supplied whilst on site.

Duties will include but not be limited to:-

• Perform planned, preventative and breakdown electrical maintenance on fixed plant and Site Services equipment within the processing plant and site infrastructure
• Maintain and repair electrical systems, motors, switchboards, instrumentation and control equipment across site
• Diagnose and rectify electrical faults to minimise plant downtime and ensure reliable plant performance
• Conduct routine inspections and testing of electrical equipment in accordance with maintenance schedules and statutory requirements
• Support plant operations by ensuring electrical systems are operating safely and efficiently
• Assist with shutdown maintenance activities, including equipment upgrades, installations and plant improvements
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports and work orders within the site maintenance management system
• Work closely with the operations team to optimise plant availability and performance
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with site safety standards, electrical regulations and company procedures
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping across electrical work areas and the processing plant

To be successful in this role, you will have:-

• Trade qualification as an Electrician with a current Electrical Licence
• HV Switching - Highly Desirable
• Proven experience working within a mineral processing facility or heavy industrial environment
• Experience maintaining fixed plant electrical systems including motors, MCCs, switchboards, VSDs and instrumentation
• Current RSHQ Medical – desirable
• Strong safety mindset witha commitment to following procedures and site standards.
• Current Australian Drivers License – Essential
• Right to Work in Australia – Essential
