Job summary

Bega Group is seeking an experienced Maintenance Electrician for our Penrith, NSW site. You will contribute to safe, reliable and efficient site operations through hands-on electrical support, preventive maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives.

The role requires full electrical license, manufacturing experience and the ability to work a rotating 12-hour day and 10-hour night shift roster, including weekdays and weekends.

Qualifications

• Fully licensed Electrician with manufacturing experience preferred.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and root cause analysis capabilities.
• Knowledge of automation systems including PLCs, SCADA, and industrial networks.
• Able to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals and P&IDs.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment and electrical systems, responding to breakdowns promptly.
• Perform preventative maintenance to improve performance and reduce downtime.
• Support and coach team members on safe equipment use and best practices.
• Ensure all work aligns with engineering, safety and food quality standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and site safety initiatives.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Electrician to join our team in a permanent, full-time role based at our Penrith, NSW site.

In this role, you’ll play an important part in supporting safe, reliable, and efficient site operations, working closely with production and maintenance teams. You’ll contribute through hands‑on electrical support, proactive maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives that help the team perform at its best.

Our Penrith site is located in Greater Western Sydney on the banks of the Nepean River and manufactures a range of more than 50 milk-based products. The site currently produces around 170 million litres of product every year! We proudly source milk from around 60 dairy farms across NSW and are passionate about supporting local products.

The successful candidate must be flexible and willing to work a rotating 12-hour day shift roster (5:00 AM – 5:00 PM) and 10-hour night shift roster (5:00 PM–3:00 AM), including weekdays and weekends (Monday to Sunday).

Responsibilities

• - Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment and electrical systems, responding to breakdowns in a timely and practical way
• - Perform preventative maintenance to improve performance and reduce downtime
• - Support and guide team members by sharing knowledge and coaching safe equipment use
• - Ensure all work is completed in line with engineering, safety, and food quality standards
• - Contribute to continuous improvement and safety initiatives, helping build a strong site culture

About you

• - Fully licensed Electrician with experience in a manufacturing environment; dairy manufacturing preferred
• - Strong problem‑solving skills, with experience in root cause analysis
• - Knowledge of automation systems including PLCs, SCADA, and industrial networks
• - Confident in fault‑finding and troubleshooting across electrical systems
• - Able to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and P&IDs
