Job summary

Pacific National is seeking a Qualified Locomotive Driver to join the Melbourne Freight Terminal intermodal team. You will operate mainline locomotives and contribute to safe, on-time freight delivery, reporting to the Supervisor.

Key requirements include a Certificate IV in Train Driving, accreditation, and a proven locomotive driving track record. The role requires a 24/7 roster and a full driver’s licence, with a strong focus on safety and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Accredited and fully qualified Locomotive Driver.
• Certificate IV in Train Driving required.
• Proven locomotive driving experience.
• Strong emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Operate locomotives in compliance with safe working regulations and driver accreditation.
• Liaise with Train Control to ensure efficient operations and schedule adherence.
• Prepare and provision locomotives, including checks and documentation.
• Perform minor maintenance and first-level servicing as required.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external customers to meet operations needs.
