Job summary

The Weir Group is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our Artarmon site in Sydney, Australia. You will maintain and improve CNC and conventional machine tools, ensuring high reliability and minimal downtime.

You'll perform preventive and predictive maintenance, diagnose faults, and support machine tool upgrades. Travel is minimal, and safety is a core priority as we deliver sustainable mining solutions.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Mechanical Engineering (Cert III).
• Extensive experience maintaining CNC and conventional machine tools (5+ years).
• Strong skills in hydraulic and pneumatic systems maintenance (5+ years).
• Competency in using CMMS for maintenance management and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Preventive and Predictive Maintenance on CNC and conventional machine tools.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic faults; respond to breakdowns to minimize downtime.
• Perform precision alignment, calibration, and machine tool upgrades.
• Maintain machine tool reliability and performance for high operational efficiency.
• Travel is minimal with onsite work at the Artarmon location.
