Liberty Primary Steel operates the historic Whyalla Steelworks, about 400km from Adelaide. The facility includes ironmaking, steelmaking, and rolling-mill operations, and is Australia's only manufacturer of special grade billet and steel long products, supporting infrastructure like rail. It is also planning to build a green steel facility with Electric Arc Furnace and Direct Reduction Iron, fed by natural gas and hydrogen, as part of GFG's goal to be carbon neutral by 2030.
