Job summary

Hancock Agriculture is seeking an experienced Machinery Operator to join Forestvale and Holyrood operations in Queensland. The role focuses on operating and maintaining broadacre machinery and earthmoving equipment across the property.

Responsibilities include operating graders, loaders and tractors, plus earthmoving, planters and tillage, trucks and dozers. A current Class C licence is required, truck licence a plus; safety and teamwork are emphasised.

Qualifications

• Competent operation and maintenance of various station machinery.
• General station and machinery maintenance experience.
• Earthmoving experience, including operating a grader (tickets preferred).
• Ability to follow instructions and comprehend complex directions across property.
• Livestock handling experience and general property maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Operate and perform basic maintenance on station machinery and equipment such as graders, loaders, telehandlers and tractors.
• Carry out general earthmoving tasks.
• Assist with planters and tillage activities.
• Operate trucks as required.
• Operate dozers when needed.

We’re seeking an experienced Machinery Operator to join our operations at Forestvale . This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of an industry-leading agribusiness with a strong focus on teamwork, safety, and innovation.

About the Property

Forestvale/Holyrood, are run collaboratively with Rockybank, sharing herd and property management responsibilities.

About the Role

This role has a focus on machinery operations and is responsible for servicing and maintaining large broadacre machinery, and earthmoving equipment.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Operation and basic maintenance of a wide variety of station plant and machinery, including graders, loaders, telehandlers and tractors.
• General earthmoving
• Planters and tillage
• Trucks
• Dozers

Skills and Experience

• Competent operation and maintenance of various station; machinery/equipment.
• General station and machinery maintenance experience.
• Relevant earthmoving experience, including operating a grader (tickets preferred);
• Demonstrated ability to follow instructions, including comprehending complex directions to various parts of the property
• Production animal experience, including livestock handling, health and welfare.
• Strong ability to problem solve.
• Strong ethic towards keeping machinery in a tidy and orderly fashion.
• Ability to observe general property needs, i.e. fencing, livestock health.
• Fencing, stock water and general maintenance skills, including the ability to know and report that cattle are in their correct paddocks and herd.
• A strong work ethic and commitment to working safely.
• Hold a current Class C driver’s licence. (Truck licence would be an advantage);
• A genuine passion for Agriculture
