Job summary

Workfast seeks highly skilled Grader, Excavator, Roller and Watercart Operators for a major civil project in Queensland. Start August 2026. The 9-month contract offers secure, long-term work with competitive pay rates.

We require recent operating experience on the listed machinery, relevant tickets or RII competencies, a current White Card, and a strong commitment to safety. You will join a supportive site team delivering safe, efficient earthworks.

Qualifications

• Proven recent experience operating Grader, Excavator, Roller or Watercart.
• Holds relevant tickets and/or RII competencies.
• Current White Card (Construction Induction) is required.
• Commitment to workplace health and safety.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work in a site team.

Responsibilities

• Operate plant machinery safely to meet daily targets.
• Perform thorough pre-start checks and report defects.
• Follow site plans and supervisor directions.
• Maintain clean, safe area and follow environmental procedures.
• Communicate clearly with ground crews via two-way radio.

• Pay Rate: $44 - $48/hr + penalties (rate dependent on ticket)
• Project Duration: 9-month project

We are taking expressions of interest and immediate applications for the following machinery operators:

• Grader Operators
• Excavator Operators
• Roller Operators
• Watercart Operators

What We’re Looking For

• Proven and recent experience operating your specific machinery in a civil, construction, or mining environment.
• Relevant machinery tickets and/or RII competencies.
• A current White Card (Construction Induction).
• A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
• Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work effectively within a site team.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate plant machinery safely and efficiently to meet daily project targets.
• Perform thorough daily pre-start checks and report any maintenance defects.
• Execute heavy civil works accurately according to site plans and supervisor directions.
• Maintain a clean and safe working area while strictly following site safety and environmental procedures.
• Communicate clearly via two-way radio with ground crews and other operators.
