Job summary

Labelmakers Group is seeking a Die Cutting Machine Operator to join our Somerton, VIC team. You will be responsible for safe operation of die cutting and rewind machines, efficient setup, and maintaining GMP and safety standards.

The role offers a 4-day afternoon shift (Mon–Thu, 2:30pm–12:30am) with a 37.5-hour week and 20% shift loading. Ideal candidates have packaging/manufacturing experience and a proactive, team-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

• Experience in a print/packaging manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to plan ahead with materials and machine setup for upcoming jobs.
• Strong teamwork and cross-group communication.

Responsibilities

• Safe and controlled running of the Die Cutting/Rewind machines.
• Efficient set-up of machines and preparation of tooling, labels and materials.
• Support the team with corrective measures and minor preventative maintenance to ensure continuous operation.
• Clean, pack, palletise and store products and materials as required.
• Interact well and maintain positive relationships with all production functions.
• Contribute to GMP, QA, housekeeping and environmental control measures across production.

About the opportunity:

We're currently looking for a Die Cutting Machine Operator to join our team at Labelmakers VIP Division in Somerton, VIC .

Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be an integral member of our Finishing team. Whether you're an experienced print finisher, machine operator, or someone with a strong mechanical aptitude and a genuine willingness to learn, we'd love to hear from you.

Enjoy a 4-day afternoon shift, Monday to Thursday, working 2:30pm to 12:30am across a 37.5-hour week , plus a 20% shift loading .

Key Responsibilities include:

• Safe and controlled running of the Die Cutting/Rewind machines.
• Efficient set-up of our machines and preparation of the tooling, labels and other raw materials to maximise equipment efficiency.
• Support the team implementing corrective measures and perform minor preventative maintenance to ensure continuous machine operation
• At times clean, pack, palletise and store products and materials
• Interact well and maintain a positive relationship with all production functions.
• You will contribute to all steps in our production process and practices including, Quality, Safety, Good Manufacturing practice (GMP) housekeeping and Environmental control measures.

To be successful in this role you will need:

• Ideally, experience working in a print or packaging manufacturing environment as a machine operator - Experience in Print Finishing or someone with a go to attitude will take you to the top of our list!
• Be proactive and able to think forward and plan your work i.e., able to be prepared with materials, machine set-up or equipment for upcoming jobs
• Be a team player that can communicate effectively across multiple work groups.
• Able to work autonomously and are self-motivated.
• To have high attention to detail and proud of your work standard – quality focus.
