Job description

Ready to build the future?

Imagine being part of the team building the backbone of Australia's AI revolution. Benmax has been trusted for 40 years to deliver exceptional mechanical services, and now we're taking on some of the most exciting projects in the country. This is your chance to play a role in something big and grow your career while you do it.

Our Queanbeyan, NSW workshop makes the parts that go into AI infrastructure builds. You'll run the machines that produce them, and you'll make sure every piece leaves the floor right the first time. No qualifications needed to start.

The opportunity

Your day starts with a set of drawings and a job to get through. You'll set up the machine and tooling, dial in the settings, check your material, then run the cycle and keep an eye on it. If something looks off, you pull it up early. Between runs you'll swap tooling, check your work against spec and log what you've done. On the more technical set-ups you'll have a qualified tradesperson beside you showing you how it's done. Clear standards, steady work, and a workshop where people take pride in what they turn out.

What you'll be doing
  • Setting up machinery, tooling and equipment to spec and work instructions, with guidance from a qualified tradesperson where it's needed
  • Entering and managing machine settings and parameters for each job
  • Preparing material, components and stock for processing, including checks on specifications, alignment and cleanliness
  • Running machines through full production cycles and watching for anomalies or deviations
  • Changing and maintaining tooling, consumables and machine parts, plus routine operator maintenance like cleaning, inspection and minor calibration checks
  • Inspecting finished work, reporting non-conforming product, getting corrective action moving, and keeping production and quality records up to date

Nice-to-haves
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, production or trade environment
  • Exposure to QA audits or a documented quality system

Formal qualifications aren't required for this role. If you've got the right approach and you're keen to learn, we want to hear from you.

What's in it for you
  • Stable, long-term work with a company that's been here over 40 years
  • Industry-competitive pay, in your account weekly
  • Free onsite parking at the workshop
  • Training and a clear pathway if you want to build a trade career here
  • PPE and uniforms provided
