Fuse Recruitment is assisting a national leader in timber and cement building products, located at Carole Park. The role involves hands-on labour as a hand sorter and production all-rounder in a busy manufacturing setting, with a strong emphasis on safety and efficiency.

You will operate forklifts (including counter balance and 8 Tonne), sort timber sheets, count stock, and prepare orders for dispatch. This is a day shift, with a loud, dusty environment and overtime opportunities.

Qualifikationen

• Valid LF Forklift License is required.
• Industrial machinery operating experience in production/manufacturing.
• Experience with oversized pallets and timber/wood products preferred.
• Counter Balance and/or 8 Tonne forklift experience essential.
• Able to lift up to 20 kg and perform stock checks.

Aufgaben

Fuse Recruitment are currently seeking experienced Machine operators with forklift licenses to work for our client who is a National Leader in their field specialising in manufacturing of building products. Located in Carole Park with free onsite parking available. These roles are temp to perm after three months!

The Client:

A National brand specialising in the cement and timber building industries, located in Carole Park.

The Role:

In this role you will work as a Hand sorter and production labourer All-rounder in a team environment.

Duties will based in the production team for our client. This is a labour intensive role where you will be sorting through sheets of timber and then loading timber sheets onto machinery to be cut and shaped to client specific orders.

You will also be counting stock, palletising stock and checking for quality and defects.

You will be picking of stock and preparing orders for shipping. You will also be working with oversized products up to 6 metres long.

You will require an LF Forklift license for this role.

Your main duties will also include:

Forklift Operating:

• Forklift pre-start checklist daily
• Operating counter balance and 8 Tonne forklifts
• Loading of oversized goods on up to 6 metre long pallets
• Unloading stock off machinery onto pallets and moving product to necessary location
• Putting stock away and moving stock around using the forklift
• Placing gluts onto packs to assist in the loading
• Splitting packs
• Sorting through damaged stocks

Machine Operation:

• Monitoring the flow of products into machines, and adjusting valves and controls to specifications
• Operating concrete mixing, stacking and splitting machines
• Setting up and installing moulds and other machine fixtures
• Collecting and examining samples for conformity to specifications and adjusting machine settings accordingly
• Setting grinding and cutting edges
• Carry out work in a safe manner, in accordance with Safety procedures as applicable
• Ensure process efficiencies are achieved and maintained
• Ensure production is in line with the specified production schedule
• Ensure product quality is in accordance with relevant specification

Manual Handling Duties:

• Loading timber sheets onto cutting machinery
• Manually stacking oversized sheets of timber and products onto pallets
• Loading Oversized pallets up to 6 meters long onto pallets
• Counting of stock
• Checking stock for Defects
• Quality assurance checks
• Wrapping and strapping pallets
• Pallet Jack Duties
• Matching Paperwork to orders
• Loading Oversized pallets up to 6 meters long
• Transfer products from rework area to strapping area.
• Shrink wrapping Pallets
• Palletising of goods
• Packing of goods

This is a loud, dusty and at times dirty environment to work in.

The Candidates:

To be successful in obtaining this role you will have experience:

• Valid LF Forklift License
• Industrial machinery operating experience from a production or manufacturing environment
• Counter Balance and / or 8 Tonne forklift operating experience
• Experience in working with oversized pallets and ugly freight
• Pick packing, palletising stock
• Shrink wrapping (Both manual and machine operated)
• Experience working with oversized stock such as timber and wood products
• Wrapping and strapping pallets experience
• The ability to lift products up to 20kgs
• The ability to check goods for quality assurance and defects purposes
• Excellent attention to detail
• Previous experience in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent WHS knowledge
• An ability to commit to the role in an ongoing capacity
