Job summary

Collins Executive Recruitment is seeking an Investment Banking Analyst II/III to join an Australian independent corporate advisory platform in Sydney. You will support M&A and capital advisory mandates, build financial models, and prepare client materials for live deals across private treaty and public market transactions.

You will work with senior bankers, conduct sector research, and assist with buyer targeting, due diligence coordination, and deal execution in a lean, entrepreneurial team.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years’ experience in investment banking, corporate advisory or lead M&A advisory
• Demonstrated exposure to M&A, capital raisings, public market transactions, strategic reviews or broader corporate finance assignments
• Strong financial modelling, valuation, analytical and presentation capability
• Clear written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
• Commercial judgement and ability to work with senior stakeholders
• Ability to perform under pressure in a transaction-driven environment
• HD/D average grade in Finance/Commerce/Economics/Accounting/Law
• CFA/CA progression viewed favourably but not essential

Responsibilities

• Support the execution of M&A, capital advisory and strategic corporate finance mandates across private treaty and public market transactions
• Build and maintain detailed financial models, valuation analyses and transaction workstreams to support live mandates and client advice
• Prepare high-quality client materials including information memoranda, management presentations, board papers, buyer research and strategic analyses
• Assist with sell-side and buy-side processes including buyer/investor targeting, market mapping, due diligence coordination and transaction execution
• Conduct sector, company and market research to support live transactions and origination initiatives
• Work closely with senior bankers across client meetings, transaction strategy, negotiations and relationship development
• Coordinate execution tasks across live mandates, liaising with clients and advisers
• Review and support analyst work, maintaining high standards of financial analysis and presentation quality
