Job summary

York Catholic District School Board in Concord, Ontario, is seeking a Lunchtime Supervisor to monitor students during lunch under the direction of the principal. You will help maintain a safe, caring environment and promote positive student interactions.

The role requires good communication, reliability, and the ability to supervise both indoors and outdoors, report incidents, assist with drills, and work with children while respecting confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Education: Less than high school graduation plus additional training or education.
• Experience: A minimum of one month of experience is required.
• Skills: Good communication, positive demeanor, ability to monitor multiple activities, and experience working with children.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students indoors and outdoors and report concerns to the School Principal.
• Monitor student behavior and promote respectful, kind, and inclusive interactions.
• Report incidents of misconduct to the Principal or designate.
• Encourage appropriate play and monitor students leaving premises or entering restricted areas.
• Assist with emergency situations such as fire drills.
• Keep the teacher/principal informed of atypical situations.
• Attend training sessions and staff meetings as required.
