Job summary

Armidale Ultrasound is seeking a locum sonographer to cover two stints in Armidale, NSW: 4 November–29 November 2024 and 6 January–31 January 2025. Workdays are Monday to Friday, 7am–4pm, with two dedicated ultrasound rooms and Philips machines.

The role supports obstetric, gynaecological, abdominal and MSK imaging; you may operate independently, with induction and adherence to clinic protocols. Accommodation and travel support are provided, along with weekly payroll and 24/7 recruitment support

Qualifications

• Experience in private practice imaging settings.
• Ability to work without on-site radiologist support.
• Comfort with 20-minute MSK appointments.
• Proficiency with Philips ultrasound systems.
• Current ASAR registration and valid Australian work rights.
• Nuchal accreditation is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform a range of ultrasound scans including general, vascular, obstetrics and MSK.
• Run own lists across two ultrasound rooms.
• Adhere to site protocols and maintain quality standards.
• Collaborate with remote radiologists and clinic team.

All about the role

Ideally, we are seeking a dual sonographer / radiographer however, this is not essential. The successful locum will be required to perform a range of ultrasound scans including general, vascular, obstetrics, and musculoskeletal imaging. Sonographers run their own lists and there are 2 ultrasound rooms. Scans are performed using Philips machines. The work is completed Monday to Friday between the hours of 7am and 4pm.

Our clients has 2 locum stints: 4th Nov to 29th Nov 2024 and 6th Jan to 31st Jan 2025.

All about the duties will I perform?

• A range of ultrasound scans including general, vascular, obstetrics and MSK.
• Nuchal accreditation is highly advantageous however is not essential.
• You will work with a lovely team, including sonographers, receptionists and remote radiologists.
• As the locum sonographer, you will be provided with an induction to site and required to adhere to all protocols, procedures and policies.

• Experience working in a private practice setting.
• Comfortable working in a private practice where there is no radiologist on site
• Comfortable with 20-minute MSK appointments.
• Experience using Philips machines
• Full ASAR registration
• Correct working rights for Australia
