Job summary

Liverpool Women’s NHS FT invites applications for a Locum Consultant Anaesthetist to provide, develop and expand services including High Dependency Care, Maternal Critical Care, and obstetric anaesthesia at the Liverpool Women’s Hospital.

The post offers SPA time (1.5 PA) for CPD, enhanced appraisal and revalidation, study leave funding, office space and secretarial support, with ongoing SPAs after a job plan is agreed with the Clinical Director and Medical Director.

Qualifications

• Must be on Specialist Register in Anaesthesia.
• FRCA or equivalent is required.
• Experience in high-risk obstetric anaesthesia.
• Experience with High Dependency Care (HDU).
• Commitment to teaching and training junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Deliver obstetric anaesthesia in the Main Delivery Suite including elective and emergency cases.
• Provide high dependency care and anaesthesia for obstetrics and gynaecology.
• Participate in teaching, training and research activities within the Trust.
