Job summary

K&S Corporation is seeking a Fleet Controller to coordinate and optimise daily linehaul operations between Adelaide and Melbourne. The role reports to the Operations Manager and operates on a Thursday to Monday day shift roster.

This on-site, hands-on position involves monitoring the network, managing changing priorities, and assisting with forklift operations when required to ensure smooth freight turnarounds. Applicants should have transport scheduling experience and a forklift licence.

The Opportunity:

Join the team keeping freight moving between Adelaide and Melbourne. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Fleet Controller will coordinate and optimise daily linehaul operations across our Adelaide and Melbourne-based fleet. This is a stable, permanent position operating on a Thursday to Monday day shift roster.

This is a hands‑on, hybrid operational role where you will monitor the network, manage changing priorities, keep communication flowing across both locations, and assist with forklift operations on‑site when required to ensure smooth freight turnarounds.

What you’ll be doing:

• Coordinating daily fleet scheduling


• Managing manifests and transport movements


• Monitoring driver fatigue compliance and Safe Driver Plans


• Scheduling annual driver training


• Maintaining strong communication with drivers and customers


• Investigating service failures and operational incidents


• Co-ordinating fleet maintenance schedules


• Ensuring compliance with transport laws, accreditation schemes and K&S company policies


• Reporting delays, incidents and non-conformances in a timely manner


• Supporting safe, efficient and cost-effective operations


• Building strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders


• Occasional forklift requirements to support loading, unloading, and freight cross-docking as required.


• Accurate record keeping

What we are looking for:

• Previous experience in transport scheduling, fleet control or logistics


• A valid Forklift Licence (LF) with proven experience handling freight safely.


• Availability to work a fixed Thursday to Monday day shift roster


• Strong knowledge of fatigue management and transport compliance


• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills


• Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment


• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety


• Customer-focused mindset with the ability to prioritise competing demands


• Proven ability to work with multiple teams


• Positive team-oriented approach


• Extensive knowledge of safe operating procedures – e.g. manual handling, defensive driving, incident & injury reporting, LUEZ
