YFS in Jimboomba is seeking a Local Link Advocate to strengthen connections between healthcare and family, domestic and sexual violence support services, empowering professionals and coordinating access to trauma-informed services for victim-survivors across Jimboomba and the Scenic Rim.

As a Local Link Advocate with YFS, you will build strong connections between healthcare and family, domestic and sexual violence support services while empowering professionals, advocating for victim-survivors, and coordinating access to services that promote safety, healing, and recovery across Jimboomba and the Scenic Rim.
Role type: Permanent - part-time - 30hrs
Pay range: $58.37 - $60.95 per hour based on experience, with salary packaging exempt from Fringe Benefits Tax available
The Local Link Specialist provides expert family, domestic and sexual violence (FDSV) knowledge and guidance to support the implementation, delivery, and ongoing development of Primary Health Network (PHN) initiatives. Working collaboratively with General Practitioners, primary healthcare providers, mental health services, and community partners, the role delivers education, training, consultation, and capacity-building activities that strengthen the sector's ability to safely identify, respond to, and refer individuals impacted by FDSV.
The position plays a key role in the design, establishment, and enhancement of Local Link service models and PHN-funded initiatives, ensuring programs are evidence-informed, trauma-responsive, and reflective of community needs. The role also provides secondary consultations, case review support, and practice guidance to healthcare professionals and internal service teams, contributing to service quality, continuous improvement, evaluation activities, and strengthened outcomes for victim survivors accessing support.
Key to the role is fostering strong cross-sector partnerships, improving referral pathways between health and specialist FDSV services, and increasing workforce confidence and capability to support individuals experiencing domestic and family violence, sexual violence, and child sexual abuse.

Brings experience working within the DFV, community services, social work, health, or human services sectors and demonstrates a strong commitment to trauma-informed, person-centred practice.

Brings strong case management, assessment, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
