Job Summary

As Local Event Staff at Water Lantern Festival, you’ll be a key part of our team, ensuring our events run smoothly by tackling a variety of tasks and supporting on-site operations. Expect long, rewarding days filled with hands-on work, from setup to teardown, with the chance to grow through training and potentially step into the Event Coordinator role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Event Support: Assist with setup, execution, and teardown of event activities, including lantern distribution, guest check-in, and site preparation.
  • Staff Coordination: Help manage and direct local staff and volunteers, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and on schedule.
  • Guest Interaction: Provide friendly, professional assistance to attendees, answering questions and resolving minor issues to enhance their experience.
  • Logistics Assistance: Support the Event Coordinator with inventory checks, equipment handling, and other operational needs.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the core team to maintain a positive, organized environment and ensure all aspects of the event run smoothly.
  • Training Participation: Engage in training sessions to learn event management skills, with the potential to advance to the Event Coordinator role.
Qualifications
  • Age: Must be 18 years or older.
  • Location: Must live in or near the event area.
  • Experience: Prior experience in event support, customer service, or team coordination preferred but not required.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure, basic problem-solving and organizational abilities.
  • Availability: Complete availability on event weekends.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Attributes: Enthusiastic, reliable, and eager to learn with a team-oriented mindset.
