Job summary

Brotherhood of St Laurence (BSL) in Melbourne Western Suburbs is seeking a Local Area Coordinator to support people with disability to connect with community and services through NDIS Partner in the Community programs.

You will help participants access information, supports and opportunities, work with plans, and collaborate to improve accessibility in local communities. The role offers a permanent full‑time path with hybrid post‑probation arrangements.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications or experience in Disability, Allied Health, Human Services, Social Sciences, Education, Community Services or a related field.
• Lived experience with disability, or an understanding of the impact of disability on individuals, families, carers and communities.
• Strong communication, listening and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Help people with disability connect with supports, activities in their community and other government services to meet their needs.
• Share information about the NDIS and help people access the NDIS if needed.
• Work with NDIS participants to understand and use their NDIS plan.
• Work in local communities to help them become more accessible and inclusive for all people with disability.
