Job summary

Cleanaway, via the Yellow Gear Academy, offers a paid, structured on-the-job training program at Eastern Creek Organics on Dharug Country to become a Loader Operator. Trainees gain hands-on experience operating heavy machinery and receive mentoring from experienced operators.

The pathway starts with a four-week training phase on day shifts, Monday–Friday, progressing to a rotating 4 on/4 off roster, including nights and weekends, with permanent full-time opportunities upon competency.

Qualifications

• Hold a current Australian Driver's Licence.
• Be willing to learn and operate heavy machinery.
• Commitment to workplace safety.
• Willing to complete a pre-employment medical assessment.
• Willing to complete drug and alcohol testing.
• Be physically capable of undertaking operational duties.
• Willing to work rotating 4 on, 4 off roster including nights, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Learn to safely operate heavy mobile plant.
• Load, move and manage organic materials.
• Support composting and resource recovery operations.
• Conduct pre-start inspections and safety checks.
• Maintain safe work areas and housekeeping standards.
• Work with unprocessed organic materials and green waste.
• Follow environmental and safety procedures.
• Contribute to a circular economy by transforming waste into reusable products.
