About the role

The organisational function of Lived Experience is to work within Mind’s support hub and drives the implementation of mental health systems reform and service innovations which are informed by lived expertise, intersectionality, human rights and social justice. The Lived Experience Workforce team lead an organisation-wide program of work to support, develop, and embed lived experience workforce.

We are seeking a self-motivated, compassionate Lived Experience Project Officer for a 2 year fixed term, full time opportunity in the Burnley area. You will support the administration and delivery of Lived Experience Career Compass (LECC) and other projects within the Lived Experience Workforce team.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the implementation and delivery of three early career programs
  • Support strategies that build capacity of the lived experience workforce in line with evidence-informed approaches.
  • Provide administration and organisation of events such as graduations, co-reflections, stakeholder meetings
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure the statewide delivery of programs is managed and delivered

What you’ll bring

  • Completion of Intentional Peer Support Core and/or Advanced training is required.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Mental Health, Peer Work, Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) or other health related field as designated by Mind are also desirable but not required.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing, designing and facilitating inclusive and trauma-informed education and training based on adult learning principles.
  • Experience with mentoring and coaching people with lived experience and/or trained to provide consumer perspective supervision or family/carer perspective supervision is highly desirable.
  • Salary packaging up to $15,899 p.a. allows you to allocate a portion of your pre-tax income to cover living expenses (e.g. rent, mortgage, child care, car leasing expenses etc.)
