Learning & Development Officer - Lived Experience

Position Details

  • Part-Time (0.8FTE), Permanent Position
  • Classification: SCHADS Level 5 with a salary range of $100,875 - $105,439 per annum pro rata + Superannuation
  • Salary packaging arrangements providing tax benefits available for living and entertainment expenses increasing your take home income where part of your wage is paid tax free each pay, savings thousands in tax each year
  • Location: Preston, Victoria (hybrid working arrangements will be considered)

About your new role

Neami requires an enthusiastic individual to join our Learning and Development team to support the ongoing practice development of staff and the delivery of consistent quality services to our consumers.

The Lived Experience L&D Officer (LE L&DO) is part of a national team of professional educators delivering non-accredited learning using the latest practice and research-based approaches to both Neami service delivery and Head Office staff. The LE L&DO will support the ongoing development and implementation of learning needs for the Lived Experience Workforce at Neami National.

Occasional local & interstate travel is a requirement of the role.

What you will bring to the role

  • Personal experience of mental health challenges, service use, periods of healing/person recovery and demonstrated ability to apply learnings as primary way of working.
  • Clear understanding of the Lived Experience lens, ways of working, and examples of facilitating change and outcomes using this perspective.
  • Intentional Peer Support (IPS) Train the Trainer qualification or hold IPS Core completion certificate and willingness to complete IPS Train the Trainer.
  • Relevant degree and/or relevant experience in the areas of organisational learning and development.
  • Previous experience working in a designated Lived Experience role.
  • Ability to make and maintain strong links to the consumer movement and broader Lived and Living Experience expertise, reflecting on personal power and privilege, the effects of power on and within systems.
  • Personal lived/living experience of recovery as a family, friend or carer. Your recovery experience may be related to mental health, suicidal crisis, drugs and alcohol use or trauma
  • Willingness to identify or be identified by others as a professional with lived experience of recovery
  • Willingness to share and draw on lived experience purposefully in the role to instil confidence and hope in others about the journey of recovery

  • National Criminal History Check (police check) - disclosable outcomes considered
