Job summary

Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre (BMEC) is seeking an experienced Operations Coordinator to lead the technical, operational and facilities functions. You will guide the department, ensuring the right people, resources, and systems are in place to deliver shows and events.

You’ll develop staff, plan budgets and contribute to future investment, while maintaining safety, asset registers and compliance. A collaborative, problem‑solving leader with strong communication will thrive in this role.

Qualifications

• Minimum four years’ experience in a similar role.
• Relevant knowledge and experience in technical production, venue operations or similar.
• Detailed understanding of Work Health and Safety legislation as it applies in theatre and public venues.
• Problem solving, planning skills and a solution orientated attitude.
• Ability to advise on the maintenance and technical requirements of the venue.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• A desire and ability to work in a team environment.
• Current C class drivers’ licence.
• Knowledge of technology in all aspects of the role.

Responsibilities

• Lead BMEC's technical and production functions and oversee staff.
• Coordinate staffing and resources for shows and events.
• Develop briefs for technical and operational needs and ensure proper setup for each production.
• Maintain oversight of equipment, asset, maintenance and compliance registers.
