Job summary

Bega Valley Shire Council is seeking a proactive Litter Project Officer to support litter prevention across the region. You will work with consultants and internal/external stakeholders to advance the litter prevention roadmap and action plan.

As Secretariat for the litter action steering group, you will coordinate across departments, liaise with partners, and help manage budgets and procurement processes within delegations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of contemporary public area management.
• Delivery of projects or programs of work.
• High level written and verbal communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Interpreting and applying legislation, policies and procedures relevant to public sector and environment.
• Two (2) years related experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist Council in delivering a cross-functional litter project.
• Secretariat duties for the litter action steering group.
• Liaise with community partners on litter initiatives.
• Support across Council departments to build buy-in on litter action.
• Monitor budgets and manage procurement and contract processes within delegations.
