Job summary

AFL Recruitment - Accounting Financial Legal is assisting a premier NSW litigation firm to recruit a senior associate. The role focuses on high-end litigation in federal and supreme courts, including commercial disputes and class actions, with some family-law work.

You will report to the Managing Partner and a Senior Partner, enjoying mentorship and opportunities toward partnership within a thriving practice.

Qualifications

• Admitted to NSW bar with 2+ years post-qualification in high-end litigation.
• Experience in high courts (Federal and Supreme) is essential.
• Strong technical, advocacy and negotiation skills.
• Proven client management ability and high standards.
• Team-focused, collaborative with a drive to excel.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of a high-end litigation practice including commercial disputes.
• Manage class-action and administrative-law matters, primarily in superior courts.
• Also handle some family-law litigation under supervision.

YOUR NEW ROLE/CAREER

As one of the firm’s KEY litigators, reporting to an incredibly multi-talented high profile Managing Partner+ another Senior Partner, you will relish the challenge+ autonomy+ diversity of taking full ownership of your 'colourful'high-end litigation practice including: 1) commercial disputes ; and 2) class-actions disputes (with a humanitarian/social justice flavour); 3) administrative law; primarily in the superior (Federal and Supreme) Courts and 4) some family law litigation.

WHO YOU ARE

We are interested in hearing from you if you:

• Are a lawyer admitted to practice in NSW with minimum 2 years (or more) post qualification experience in high-end litigation including commercial disputes (preferably with some class actions exp but not essential);
• Have strong experience litigating in the higher courts-Federal and Supreme Courts (ESSENTIAL);
• have strong technical, advocacy, negotiation+ client management skills;
