Job summary

Western Power is offering a four-year Lineworker Apprenticeship across Picton, Pinjarra and Albany in Western Australia. You will gain hands-on experience while working toward a nationally recognised Certificate III in ESI – Distribution Overhead, under the guidance of skilled tradespeople.

Expect on-the-job learning, formal assessments and thorough training. This paid, full-time apprenticeship supports a long-term career in the WA energy network and community-focused projects.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older to apply.
• Have obtained a “C” class driver’s license.
• Have completed minimum of Year 10 secondary education with English and Mathematics skills.
• Be physically fit and able to lift heavy equipment.
• Be willing to complete a pre-employment medical assessment.
• Be willing to obtain a range of high-risk licensing.
• Be willing to work a 75-hour fortnight (overtime possible).
• Be willing to travel to remote locations for work rotations.
• The ability to interpret complex instructions, designs and diagrams.
• The ability to operate large equipment such as elevated work platforms and hydraulic drills.

Responsibilities

• Work towards obtaining a Nationally recognised Certificate III in ESI – Distribution Overhead (UET30621).
• Learn installation, maintenance and inspection of poles, structures and hardware.
• Work alongside experienced tradespeople on day-to-day tasks.
• Participate in on-the-job learning and formal training.
