Job summary

Catholic Healthcare Limited is seeking empathetic staff to provide lifestyle, social and wellbeing services for residents at Charles O'Neil Hostel in Mayfield West. The role involves supporting residents with activities, meals, mobility and social needs, while upholding the organisation’s values.

The position offers a permanent full-time schedule, with a compassionate team and opportunities to engage with the wider community. Training and compliance are part of the role.

Qualifications

• A kind heart and genuine passion for providing high quality care to the elderly.
• Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Certificate III or Cert IV in Leisure and Health or Individual Support or similar.
• Able to establish and maintain professional relationships with residents and their families.
• A reliable team player.
• Commitment to respecting residents’ values, customs and beliefs.
• Willingness to apply for a Police Check and NDIS clearance.

Responsibilities

• Encouraging resident choice and participation in individual and group activities.
• Assisting in design, delivery and monitoring of group and individual lifestyle services and activities.
• Implementing innovative events and lifestyle activities for residents and involving the wider community, volunteers and residents' families and friends.
• Provide direct resident care during activities such as bus trips, including assisting with personal hygiene and toileting.
• Provide direct resident care in relation to meals service, mobility and social support.
• Support peers and maintain a cooperative team spirit.
• Work in a safe manner following all policies and procedures.
