Job summary

Churches of Christ in Queensland – Southport QLD is seeking a Lifestyle Therapy Team Leader to lead a team delivering vibrant, resident-centred wellbeing programs for Golden Age Aged Care in Southport. You will design, implement and evaluate lifestyle activities that enhance dignity, comfort and purpose for residents.

You will mentor staff and volunteers, develop person-centred care plans, and coordinate resources to ensure meaningful experiences for every resident while aligning with our values

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Leisure and Health as required qualification.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• Diploma of Leisure and Health and Certificate III in Aged Care.
• Experience in developing and delivering leisure programs in aged care.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and support lifestyle therapy staff to deliver meaningful activities.
• Assess resident needs and develop person-centred lifestyle care plans.
• Design, deliver and evaluate individual, small group and large group activity programs.
• Coordinate staff, volunteers and resources to deliver engaging lifestyle programs.
• Support residents to participate, build connections and enhance their wellbeing.
• Review and update lifestyle plans to ensure they continue to meet resident needs.

You'll inspire and support staff and volunteers, elevate the quality of therapeutic activities, and champion a genuinely person-centred approach guided by the Positive Wellbeing Model of Care.

About the role

• Lead, mentor and support lifestyle therapy staff to deliver meaningful activities.

About you

• Certificate IV in Leisure and Health.
• Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
• One year of experience in a similar role
• Knowledge and application of person-centred preference-driven philosophies.
• Demonstrated experience in the management of leisure and recreational staff.
• Light Rigid Bus Licence (Class LR) or the ability to acquire this licence within three months of commencement will be Highly regarded
• Three years' experience in the development and delivery of contemporary leisure and recreational programs within Aged Care is highly regarded.
• Diploma of Leisure and Health
• Certificate III in Aged Care
