Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Lifestyle Assistant at Mercy Place Bethlehem (Bendigo) to help create cherished moments and better health outcomes for residents days. You’ll organize activities, support wellness programs, and provide companionship with empathy.

You’ll work as part of a diverse team, coordinating with care staff to integrate lifestyle activities into overall care plans. NDIA clearance and vaccination evidence may be required as part of the process.

  • Activity Planning: Organize and facilitate recreational and social activities tailored to residents’ interests.
  • Wellness Support: Assist with physical and mental wellness programs, including exercise and cognitive games.
  • Personal Engagement Companionship: Provide emotional support and companionship to residents through conversation and shared activities.
  • Life Story Work: Encourage residents to share their life stories, fostering connections and understanding.
  • Family Interaction Communication: Act as a liaison between residents and their families, providing updates on activities and well-being.
  • Support: Assist families in understanding the care processes and available resources.
  • Environment Management Safety: Ensure a safe and comfortable living environment, addressing any concerns or hazards.
  • Personalization: Help residents personalize their living spaces to reflect their preferences and memories.
  • Administrative Support Documentation: Assist with maintaining records related to activities and residents’ engagement.
  • Coordination: Collaborate with healthcare staff to integrate lifestyle programs with overall care plans.

Employment Type: Permanent Part-Time Hours: Minimum 7.5 Salary: $32.30 - $34.04 Location: Mercy Place Bethlehem (Bendigo)

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

  1. National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Clearance.
  2. Current COVID-19 certificate, proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
